April 2025. Substrate AI, the artificial intelligence company listed on BME Growth, has signed an agreement with technology company Orbital to participate in the design and construction of its state-of-the-art data center specializing in AI in Talavera de la Reina, with the backing of the Junta de Castilla y La Mancha. This will be the first in a series of state-of-the-art data centers that the alliance will build across Spain to meet growing demand.

Orbital is an advanced engineering company, backed by NVIDIA and Toyota, that designs and implements data center products. These products incorporate proprietary advanced materials designed in Orbital's labs with its cutting-edge AI models.

The company has developed two revolutionary products for the data center industry. The first is a new two-stage liquid cooling technology that enables high-density GPU deployment in our state-of-the-art AI data center. The second is a chiller that not only provides essential heat removal for the data center, but also uses the waste heat to capture CO2 from the air with advanced custom materials that will allow our data center to be not only carbon neutral, but also carbon negative.

"With this agreement, we are advancing our goal of building cutting-edge infrastructure using the latest technology available and becoming a benchmark in Europe in new building technologies. For us, data centers should not only be isolated service facilities, but also industrial hubs around artificial intelligence, something we will achieve with the startup acceleration center we are building together with them," said Mani Masshafi, CEO of Substrate AI - Data Center Division.

"With this project in Talavera, and others that we will build in the future with Orbital, we are betting on a strategy based on building small centers equipped with the latest Nvidia technology that can provide local services to European companies concerned with data control and management when using artificial intelligence," added Masshafi.

Daniel Miodovnik, COO of Orbital Materials, said: "This agreement marks our arrival in Europe. We want to contribute to a new generation of sustainable data centers that provide the compute capacity needed to scale AI without causing negative impacts on the environment."

Substrate AI, which went public on BME Growth in May 2022, operates as a holding company for companies that apply and develop artificial intelligence in their respective sectors, focusing on creating efficiencies that drive the economy towards sustainability and emission neutrality. It is currently implementing a computational development strategy with the construction of its first AI data center in Talavera de la Reina, along with a startup acceleration center.
